Ahara Massage & Bodywork

Āhāra: “food, vehicle, container”

In Yoga and Ayurveda, Ahara doesn’t only consider the food we eat, but also the overall intake of sensory impressions, thoughts, and emotions. Ahara is rooted in mindfulness and holistic nourishment, which takes into consideration what you’re absorbing through your eyes, ears, skin, nose and mouth. By holding this awareness of consumption, you give yourself power to live life with more balance where physical health, mental clarity and spiritual growth collide.

Meet the Massage Therapist

Welcome! I’m Leah, a licensed massage therapist, yoga teacher, and owner of Ahara Massage and Bodywork. My journey into the world of wellness began in 2017 with my first yoga training in Rishikesh, India. This experience ignited more curiosity, leading me to advanced yoga studies in Uvita, Costa Rica, where I deepened my understanding of yoga and its healing powers.

I delved further into the yoga realm, receiving certifications in trauma-sensitive yoga, Buti yoga, prenatal and postpartum yoga, and the ancient sister science; Ayurveda. Growing up as an Olympic-level athlete, I learned early on the profound impact of massage and body awareness on overall well-being.

I attended Denver Integrative Massage School, where I honed my skills in a variety of modalities, including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, prenatal, Thai yoga massage, sports massage, and cupping. Diversifying my massage offerings, I receiving my Manual Lymphatic Massage Therapy certificate and also ventured into Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage Therapy; allowing me to provide uniquely tailored and specialized treatments based on each client’s goals.

My educational pursuits are very diverse, yet each skill compliments and weave together perfectly. Accompanying my bodywork skills; I hold a certificate in culinary and pastry arts from Escoffier, completed Birth and Postpartum Doula training with Mama Glow, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UWEC.

My mission is to help my clients achieve balance and tranquility with every session. By embodying a holistic lifestyle, I connect intuitively with those I work with, weaving together massage, breath work, and yoga principles to support their healing journeys. I am dedicated to empowering my clients, fostering their confidence in self-healing through personalized techniques and treatment plans that nurture the mind-body connection. Together, we embark on a path to greater wellness and vitality.

“Ashi” translates to foot and “Atsu” into pressure. Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy, is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist delivers deep, broad, consistent pressure while utilizing their feet and body weight. Working with gravity instead of against it, Ashiatsu therapists are able to provide an effective therapeutic massage without causing pain or discomfort to themselves or the receiving client.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a specialized massage technique specifically designed to support your lymph system. Along with its therapeutic benefits, it is also very gentle, calming and relaxing. Keeping your lymph system healthy helps your body defend against disease and infection. It will give the immune system a boost, calms the inflammatory response, and can aid in any cleansing program. MLD is valuable for many conditions including edema from surgery or traumatic injury, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, migraines, scarring and more.

Integrative Deep Tissue
Integrative deep tissue massage uses a variety of techniques to target the fascial tissue and trigger points in the body that lie deeper in the layers of the muscles and connective tissues. The session will always be different based on what you need, using a variety of massage techniques including: Swedish, trigger point, myofascial release, stretching, and cupping. Integrative Deep Tissue is best for those seeking to relieve chronic tension and work on specific areas in need.
